Senior Writer-editor

Purpose: Work as a writer on short-term assignments for Client Corporate Communications and Public Affairs (CCPA). Support communications business partners within operating centers, developing and executing internal and external communications with a strategic focus.

Key Functions:

        Develop and write employee-focused communications for a range of internal strategic communications needs, including employee engagement initiatives, new policies and procedures, social events and activities, diversity and inclusion programs, information technology and software updates, and more.

        Coordinate and work with corporate support organizations, such as Facilities, to communicate services, programs, and policies.

        Write and edit a variety of communications pieces, including employee news articles, promotional pieces , emails and announcements for managers , and other assignments as needed.

        Work with graphic designers and creative services teams to produce effective employee communication pieces for online and print media.

        Develop and produce external communications products as needed. Examples include writing project stories and employee profiles for the external website, preparing submissions for awards programs, and developing fact sheets and information materials for industry conferences.

Required Education/Experience:

        Bachelor's degree, plus 6 years of communications experience or the equivalent in job-relevant work experience (ideally with a strong focus on employee or internal communications mixed with related external communications work).

        Proven ability to communicate with employees at all levels.

        Ability to write about complex technical topics in a simple and clear manner applicable to a general audience.

Desired Education/Experience:

        Master’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field.

        5–10 years of experience in the communications field.

Required Skills:

        Strong writing and editing skills.

        Excellent attention to detail.

        Experience working in a fast-paced environment and juggling multiple priorities.

        Ability to adapt to changing requirements and evolving needs, often on short notice.

        Ability to manage projects and deadlines

        Excel at working independently and with little oversight but also comfortable working as part of a team.

        Experience in a Corporate Communications department and working with graphic designers and other creative services teams.

        Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Office (2010 or 2013), specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Lync, and Outlook.

        Experience using multiple communications platforms, including digital, online, print, face-to-face interactions, and events.

        Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact comfortably with employees at all levels, including senior leaders.

Desired Skills:

        Ability to analyze a problem or process and suggest improvements.

        Willingness/ability to learn new technologies.

        Familiarity with SharePoint.

Experience with a technology company or organization is helpful
